Acacia howittii, commonly known as Sticky Wattle or Howitt’s Wattle, is a graceful shrub or small tree endemic to eastern Victoria. It features pendulous, slender branches and dark green, narrowly lanceolate phyllodes that are often sticky, especially when young. Pale yellow, globular flower heads bloom in spring, followed by narrow seed pods up to 6 cm long. This species thrives in moist forest habitats between Mount Howitt and Yarram and is listed as Vulnerable in Victoria. Widely cultivated for its ornamental foliage and screening potential, it responds well to pruning and adapts to various garden settings.
