Carex fascicularis

Carex fascicularis, or tassel sedge, is a native, rhizomatous perennial found across Victoria, thriving along streams and swamps in lowland areas. It forms dense tussocks with broad, septate-nodulose leaves and drooping female spikes that mature into spiny-looking seed heads. This sedge flowers from spring to summer and is widespread in moist habitats.
